The Art of freedom: From Wall Scribbles to Real Art Shows

Homeschooling isn’t just a way to learn — it’s the freedom to grow into who you’re truly meant to be. Here’s the beautiful outcome of 3 years of that freedom.
I’m proud parent of a young artist named Vaishnavi Penumatsa.
Her journey with art started very early — when she was just 3 years old. Back then, she would scribble with crayons everywhere — on walls, books, even my office papers! But for her, those colorful scribbles were little stories, not just random lines.
As she grew, her love for colors only got stronger. When she turned 10, we made a big decision — to homeschool her. It was risky, but we wanted her to follow her true passion: art.
Homeschooling gave her what regular school couldn’t — freedom. Freedom to learn what she loved, at her own pace, without the pressure of exams or boring subjects. Her “classes” were all about painting, sketching, fabric design, color theory — and she was excited to learn every day.
By 11, she got into Hamstech College for fashion design.
Later, she joined Picasso School of Arts to explore painting even deeper — landscapes, abstracts, portraits... she tried it all.

And this year, something amazing happened — Vaishnavi was selected to display her painting at an art exhibition at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad. I was nervous for her, but the visitors loved her work. Some even left loads of appreciation, and a little girl said she wanted to be like Vaishnavi someday.
Moments like that made us realize — homeschooling was the best decision ever. It let her dream, create, and grow without limits.
From a tiny girl with crayons to a young artist participating in an art exhibition competing with professional artists—this is just the start of her colorful journey.

And I keep thinking... what if we hadn’t chosen homeschooling? Would she have found this path? I doubt it. Regular school would’ve boxed her creativity.
